this band has it all,vocals of coverdale and pitches of roth,guitars...billy squier,joe perry,lot of boston based bands sound,drums..heavy,quiet riotish...bold...sexual...aerosmitty style...fuckin A'wesome!!!

Thats funny, I thought the exact same thing. I build and play them too. But really, the surprise is because back THEN it wasn't fashionable. It makes total sense though for their sound and his playing style.

Hey, I never meant to offend you or anything. I know what your talking about, I play guitar myself, and have a lot of experience in guitar sound and so on! It's just my personal TASTE!!! Personally I would never play on a Les Paul because I think they suck, at least the ones Gibson makes! Of course, if I would ever need to get that Les Paul sound to make it fit to some kind of musical style I would use one! I would be stupid otherwise! But thanks for sharing your opinion as well! He's got a Les Paul tone, unless you saturate your signal with effects, that's basically the way they all sound (unless you're playing a LP Deluxe).He plays the verse melody during the solo (with an octive pedal) and incorporates some obligatory 80's shred at the end. In addition, the solo has good ascending and descending dynamics and the sliding octive part is a memorable hook (as is the verse melody mentioned). Most guitar players who have 10+ year careers never make a statment this good.

The lead guitarist is playing a Les Paul with "soapbar" P90 pick-ups. I would not have expected that.
