who gives a fuck about weight at least i can depend on that weapon and it has the ability to kill with one shot, something rare from an M16/M4

Ambidextrous! that's great for me

if I am in a situation where I WILL need a rifle (ie: long distance shooting) I'll take an M14. If I MIGHT need a rifle, I'll take an AR or similar.

m14 is heaver then a ar15 and are a bit pricey.... not as universial as an m16/m4
drypWuN (August 20, 2008 at 9:08 am)
because a 5.56 has over twice the range and the bullet moves over 2 times as faster then a 7.62... but it doesnt have as much power as a 7.62. and the m16 is more universial...and fn fals are more expensive

I can agree with that, I dont like how the US switched from the M14

ACR a lot of really nice features, forward side charging handle, gas piston, polymer construction, folding stock, integrated rails as standard. Rumored price was $1500 supposedly, thats a hell of a deal because you can upgrade an AR15 with rail, gas piston and it will easily cost more than 1500 and it still wont have a lot of things ACR has. I hope it is $1500 because I'll get one if it is. Delayed until Q1 09 though.

Thats true. but none of them have been adopted by the military as standard infantry. even the newer m16a4's (if I'm not mistaken) still use direct-impingement.
TDK757 (August 19, 2008 at 3:51 am)
esp550 the M16 / M4 can use the gas piston systems. Both H&K and Bushmaster produce them.

FN-FAL is still one of the best assualt rifles in the world, its beyond me why the canadian millitary changed to the M-16. Because the FAL is way more reliable, durable, accurate and above all it has the 7.62mm round witch has enough stopping power to take down religios fanatics like the Taliban |
