Testing at such high speeds is not really all that practical because if you were to crash into a wall at 100km\h the deceleration would severely damage your internal organs with very little change of survival, hence we test at these speeds where our body can actually survive the deceleration if our cars are safe enough to protect them.

But there must be a difference, because the way of life and the roads are different, you can find more SUV and more Pick-ups in america than in any european country.
