Did you see them at the Mayhem tour? I saw them at that in St. Louis on July 23. I liked it...the only problem was that it was quiet as f***ing hell...

i just saw mastodon the other day live, and i had seen them live about a year ago too, and those were the only two times i heard them, and they were horrible, so i came here to see if they were any good when they werent live....and they still suck?

i dont give a fuck metal is metal to me the only genres i know is thrash,black,death,norweigen black,power,grove,nu and prog, and some otherswtf is sludge metal anyways

Mastodon isnt pure metal by any chance. Odd-time signatures, and experimental music fused with metal is called progressive. Mastodon holds that genre, along with a bit of sludge.
