I think you may be referring to Friedrich Hollaender's "Munchausen", a biting critique of the social ills in Nazi Germany. It is available on Lemper's album of Berlin Cabaret Songs, which she recorded both in German and English.

great posting this - haunting and makes you think of things you don't usually do. i saw ute lemper in paris at le chatelet - she sang a song with the refrain 'liar liar' in it - would you happen to know what it's title is? i've been hunting on iTunes and everywhere - to no avail.

I'm a huge fan of Ute Lemper's... it's not her voice, it's her presence, her delivery that has a strong impact on her audience! Thank you for posting! 5*

I'm a huge fan fan of all those classically trained divas but.. she is wonderful, I acquired a taste for her the minute she opened her mouth...

for some reason she visits Athens-Greece very often. She gave a concert in February, and there will be another one this September. Unbelievable, she makes you think that you're in middle-war Berlin and she is as good as in her discs. Adorable.

There was a concert here commemorating the anniversary of WWII and she sang there, but I couldn't go because it was too pricy and I was like 16 haha :CCCC

I did, last February, and she was divine! I wish you to see her soon! |
