SNCF doen t care to have tgv who can do 500kmph everyday...the most important is to show that we can do that and more than 570kmph...France, and Alstom especially have the experience and the capacity to built incredible fast train like this one and as if ICE is a good train..not as the same level as tgv and Agv tech!

@jadawin10: Stupid. The ICE1 (Enschede) is not the ICE3 or the ICE-Velaro (fastest serial train in the world) and the accident was a very unlucky chain-reaction with a propability of 1:100000000000, each airplane is more dangerous. Beside of this the cause was deleted 100%. Maglev had nothing to do with the technic itself, it was at a test-track near to me which was not controlled as a commercial line. Somebody forgot a tool-vehicle on the line. But Transrapid did not even derail!

the train was not at full speed but for safety reason and problem of electricity catchment they prefer to stay at max 575kmph!this train can go to 600kmph say Alstom boss

It depends on how much a passenger is willing to pay for his trip. In France I think it wouldn't be profitable since culturally trains aren't a means of transportation for the riches, and because you have to keep the prices low to prevent ppl from riding polluting and noisy planes. In Switzerland or the EAU maybe... Anyway, everything is a matter of compromise but I'm sure engineers are continuously improving technology to get tear and wear lower and lower.

yes it's not the top speed :( the test track is short for it

32.4 kV 800 amps (thats what he says at 6:52 when he is "only" going 495)gives 25920 kilowatts which is 35 000 HP !!!!! and it not even going full speed !!!

The trip for Montreal to Jonquière has about 450 km long and takes 10 hours wich is an average of 45 kph DONT EVER TAKE THE TRAIN if you want to make that trip

That accident didn't had anything to do with trains. It was a very unlucky scenario and investigaters have decidede there is nothing wrong with the ICE trains!!!

The German trains are dangerous. See the disaster of the ICE in Eschede, 101 dead, 88 wounded. Shanghai Maglev, 23 dead 10 injured. The Maglev is an expensive gadget and don't have a real future. The Germans just give up the sole commercial project in Europe (Munich). Siemens stopped the development of this "train". Too expensive, too complex. The Shanghai line is likely to be the only one ever built. |
