Yea nintendo owns and licences out the pokemon brand however when they licenced the brand to Warner bros. (time warner) they gave warner the rights (with thier permission) to if they want sell their licenced rights to another outlet (Miramax/Disney)

Yes, but Pokemon itself is owned by Nintendo.

WB sold their dvd/Video & movie production rights for pokemon to Disney... who then divested it in to their Miramax division
