People are buying a macbook air with its one usb port, no optical drive, 80GB hard drive, at $1,799. And you will purchase Ethernet Adapter, external hard drive for time machine, and a external optical drive that works only macs. OH!! and its battery are not user replaceable, what if its corrode. Dam their idea is stupid

Aside from quality issues with the Lenovo there is that MS OS that is slow, bloated and constantly under assault from viruses.

The default Air configuration is $1500 cheaper than the x300 and has a much faster CPU with twice the RAM. Upgrade to an SSD drive, upgrade the CPU, add an external DVD drive, the Air is STILL hundreds of dollars cheaper than the baseline x300, and it still has a better LED backlit display, sturdy aluminum case, and keyboard to boot.Lenovos are the only notebooks I would consider outside of Apple's but this is crazy. Who says Macs are overpriced? The x300 is underpowered and too expensive

Man, you don't know jack about computers. My guess is you're lying about owning a Mac too.And what on earth does installing '3rd party software' have to do with an optical drive? Download it, install it. What's the big deal?Or just insert it into your desktop and share the drive. The Mac Air was never designed to be used as a desktop. If you want a desktop, buy a desktop. But once again you display your ignorance.

Yeah, that's where you're wrong. I've been using an Apple computer for 3 years now, and I've had my HDD go on the fritz (and consequently had to re-image my laptop because of it) multiple times. Not to mention it becomes quite hard to install third party software without an optical drive, and it eliminates the option to backup your data with DVDs (meaning you better have an external HDD).Also, don't try to challenge someone who knows more about computers than you on the subject of computers.

I used windows since Win95, but after i started to work in an advertising agency, it took one hour to show me how outclassing apple computers are compared to windows pc´s. this is a fact! i bought myself a mac book and it changed my life. but there was one thing i missed - PC Games. So i bought a gaming PC and guess what came back to my balanced life: ctrl alt del, screen freezes, blue screens. |
