Things like what u saw may happen often asthe cause of the sparks may be debris on the runway but its still very dangerous as the same thing happened to concorde which crashed due to a ruptured tank from debris

Bloody hell does this happen often? It's good to know that it can happen but still land safely. I recently went to France and as the plane took off I saw sparks flying off the wing. Thought it was my imagination till my little girl pointed out that she could see sparks. We fly alot and haven't seen anything like that before. Wondered if it's normal.

I would have left my shirt and hat at the pilots doors as I got off the plane. That was textbook.
