gonzotime7224The vast majority of the countries that send amateur athletes to the Olympics don't pay their athletes much money. In Canada they receive aprox $25,000/year. If they have a family that makes for a tight budget. Obviously in the United States there is greater funding for your athletes, which is good.As far as endorsements go, only a select few attain that type of popularity, and that is usually only after they have done very well at the games.Cheers.

everytime i see or think of this, i start crying. its so powerful, so heroic. this guy desverved the gold medal, just because he had more heart than any other racer in the stadium combined. a true champion.

they don't live anywhere near the poverty line, they dont make alot of money doing what they do. but if they become good enough nike will give them millions of dollars to wear their crap. you make it sound like these people are living without homes. |
