Every medical school in the world should have this book as part of the course material.

Whether you realize it or not, Dr. Weil has lost a considerable amount of weight since this appearance on Larry King last year--and he did it on a LOW-CARB diet! :)

Oh, you mean the Dean Ornish who was the only guest on that Charlie Rose show who had a laptop computer in front of him? The last time I checked, Gary Taubes never needed any notes to articulate precisely what he wanted and he did an excellent job of communicating his points.

btw, i wouldn't take Dr Weil's endorsement of Gary's book very seriously, he's fat!

Watch the video called Charlie Rose-NUTRITION PANEL and you'll really see what an idiot Gary is, watch the whole thing. Dr. Dean Ornish is the man and he makes Gary look like an idiot, seriously!

This is perhaps one of the best books ever written. The main point is do not eat refined carbohydrates such as white flour, pasta, rice, potatoes and high fructose corn syrup. These are the causes of heart disease, diabetes and cancer. READ this book!!!

Andy I know you didn't make it to Sturgis this year. You really need to dust off that 1968 4 speed Shovel and ride it up in 09. Yeah, I know you like to hide the fact that you're a biker, but folks are going to find out eventually. Can't forget the Angels by the Bay during your time there..

since this is a weight loss channel, I should mention that I am an athlete and the amounts of protein and fat I eat could easily be twice what a smaller person or a person only interested in losing fat should be eating.I should also mention its important to eat complex carbs about 1 time a week for carb sensitive athlete, and that eating for your blood type combined with low carb is very effective.

well thats good to know, I eat almost zero carbs 6 days a week, I do eat 200-330 grams protein, 50-100 grams fat and 9 liters of water per day. I never touch sugar never touch artificial sweetners and I have been doing this long term with no cravings for sugar or carbs. the key is no sugar.. if you have a little bit you end up wanting more. I even use non-sweetend dental care... zero sugar=zero cravings. If you do need sugar try organic dark chocolate in small amounts or organic maple syrup! |
