cal got the big breaks by ainge fumbling, and the goal line stand and it was a game until the 4th quarter. tenn with all those mistakes still made it a competitive game. the sec is still by far the best conference though. tenn is not that good of on sec to begin with. they lost to fla, ala, lsu, and three of their wins were miracles. cal would not have beaten georgia, lsu, auburn, or florida.

Cal would have played for the SEC championship this year, while in the Pac-10 they were the last team to get into a bowl. That's called conference depth.
