OK! But the difference is that Honda engine is waking up on very high rpm, because before is nothing. That's why you have to all the time twisting engine in to high rpm to get power. BMW engine is giving you power any time. That's why BMW is better... Japanese should learn from BMW, and finally learn that good engine is giving you power any time, not only on high rpm...

I'm sorry, you're right. It was ALfa Romeo that I was thinking of.I don't know if I'd say variable vane is pointless. It's been proven to provide much more low end boost response over twin scroll 'non-variable vane' turbos.

Vanos, or varios as others know it came after Vtech. But they are first to use variable cam placement that variates which lobe profiles are used (ferrari). Variable vane is pretty much pointless, theres alot of other simple things you can do to get the same advantage.
