its about a Kid named Jeremy that shot himself in the head in class,but Eddie vedder also knew a kid that this is also about.

It is about a kid that was so messed up as a kid and he eventually killed him self in front of his class but his name wasnt Jeremy, Eddie Vedder changed it to Jeremy cause the kids parents didnt want it as their sons name because it makes them sound like terrible parents like when he says - daddy didnt give attention ooo to the fact that mommy didnt care

It looks like at the end Jeremy is putting the gun to himself and in the last scene his classmates are frozen at the exact moment he pulled the trigger and killedhimself.
