If you use a light mist of spray adhesive (and let it dry) it makes a good tacky surface (and the stencil will peel off cleanly). This prevents lifting when spraying. If you want overspray/bleeding, disregard this comment.

dude montana would be a waste his stuff is amazing but buying that kind of paint for this when you get the same result with krylon is dumb.
