oh man, I love this song to death. I can play this one over and over. I don't like "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" and that is all you hear on those lousy, generic oldies stations. There are a few that will play this. WLNG (92.1) out of Long Island is one of them.The home of 10,000 golden oldies is their motto. They also have a mono signal, reverb and classic old jingles!

This tune, which was a hit about eight months prior to The Tokens' No. 1 smash, "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," certainly has the "feel" of a number of early Neil Sedaka songs. Not surprising, because The Tokens were, for a time, backup singers for Sedaka -- and Sedaka was actually a member of the original Tokens, when the group was formed in Brooklyn in 1955. |
