Nat King Cole was great for a variety of reasons but one was the fact that he could sing and accompany himself on the piano. Anybody who plays the piano knows that is very hard to do.

It seems a live performance of the song. It was written by Booby Troup, I think that he didn't record it before Nat King Cole. What I am pretty sure of is that the recording of "The King Cole Trio" was the first to be a hit in 1946 (#3 R&B list and also entered the pop list). Lots of versions, less jazzier, for the white audience were made (Andrew Sisters, Perry Como). The impressive guitar is Oscar Moore.
