Change starts with you. Will you just "play along" with the game you say you hate, or will you reject it and live differently?

I must really say that my future looks rather bleak if I need 26 hours in a day, suffer fromm insomnia, and have more friends than I count. I hope that I don't do some of things that many people today are doing, which are ruining their future. Although I can see that texting the whole day may be fun (may...it takes me forever to get a word right, not to mention the language) I don't think it's going to help me or my classmates. Somehow this has to change...

Sakura - I, too, respect self-education & individual inquiry, and I congratulate you. I like this: "it does not depend on the school it depends on the student." The problem is that many students who complain about the classroom environment have no capacity for self-directed study. Some of their complaints are legitimate, but some are just excuses for laziness. This video tries to dresses immature whining up as a political 'vision' - 'the voice of the oppressed.' I'm glad you're not one of them.

Sounds to me like Sakura does indeed have the right idea. I am a big believer in self-education & individual inquiry. Some of us older people often complain about new media. Sometimes this is correct, sometimes not. What we dislike about it is the stunning lack of depth to most of it. Even this site here is full of millions of different snippets of very shallow information. We are concerned about how our society is developing an even shorter attention span & capacity for actual thought
