New Wind Power - The Wind Belt Invention

Shawn Frayne invented an inexpensive non turbine wind generator called the wind belt. I have no specs other than what you see on the video. I imagine it's use on the roof of an electric car but obviously it can be used anywhere there is wind. The bennefit is that it is very inexpensive to build as opposed to a standard turbine wind generator. The fan simulates the wind which moves the belt which moves the magnets through the coils to make electricity to power the clock and LEDs. I don't know how much the output voltage is.Help Stop The Suppression Of Inventions http://www.panacea-bocaf.org/n...

This is really amazing stuff here; actually sitting and thinking about it I wondered where it would be practical, then it hit me. Put this into the grill of a car, after a certain amount of speed you would have a wind powered car! (Though I'm not sure of all the technical details and such) Also, you could have a self powered van, using a batter or some sort of small system to jump start the fan, then it would power itself. (Nearly free air conditioning anyone?)

Its easier to convert to DC power and pound that into an inverter like PV Powered.

interesting idea, how do you regulate the amplitude of the oscillation though ?

excellent

That one was meant as a reply for Pigcowgreen.

Actually, this can only cause an AC output...
green4strings (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
well further research SHOULD be done. using different materials could yield better a output.

Nothing new about this, it is the same science experment I did in the 80s. After I copied/ripped off Jock Cousto. He had this and a freaking Circler sail on this vessel. It freaked me out, so I hammered one out.Testal, Bell, and others have built this thing since the 1800's.It is a good experment to learnThis is how it works in layman: Wind moves slower over then threw the box, This causes low presser, Belt vibrates solid magents by coil, This causes low DC output of current.

try to make calculations and see the difference... I think it's not that effecient enough to compete with the rotational wind turbine efficiencies...compute the bill of materials.. consider the materials...

go get a sailboat and then take an electric fan and blow the sail. i bet youll get going really fast...aihlo, how do you suck so badly at physics yet still remotely understand whats going on in this video...?
For those considering buying a new vehicle, don't forget to check out the new 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser. Great for adventures off road, just for cruising around town, or running to the store.

The new 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser seats five and comes in two-tone with a Voodoo Blue, Titanium Metallic, Black Diamond, Sun Fusion, Sandstorm or Brick body color and White top.
