I only know Nednex from Cotton Eye Joe, which made number 1 when I was 10. This is the first time I have ever heard this song, and despite the fact that eagle feathers were used (or maybe because of it - the bald eagle is one of my totem animals), it really struck a chord with me.

Oddly enough, the English never issued "Edicts" like the French did against my tribe (Meskwaki Nation in Iowa). The French attempted to wipe us out in the midwest years ago ... but the English helped us out back then. That is why you have cities like Davenport, Iowa existing to this very day and not Montreal, Iowa. :) |
