You know, I'm only going on the "feeling" I get from Paul and Mike, but to me these guys "had something goin' on" in the world of blues music. Even though they were white, they seemed to have the "real feal" of blues. That's just my opinion, but I'm "stickin' to it". Marc Trainor.

Blaudrogist almost has this right, with the one exception that David Sanborn hadn't yet joined the band and doesn't appear in this video. Otherwise, the lineup here is exactly as blaudrogist says. The guy with the hat is Brother Gene Dinwiddie, and the guy playing the smoky trumpet fills is Keith Johnson.

Some of the below comments are better than others. The lineup here was Butterfield- vocals, harmonica, Billy Davenport-drums, Charles ( Bugsy ) Maugh-bass, Mark Naftalin-keyboards, Elvin Bishop-guitar, David Sanborn-alto sax, Brother Gene Dinwiddie-tenor sax, Keith Johnson-trumpet.After these facts, Butterfield was a better than decent blues singer, no-one matched him on amplified harmonica before or after his death. Sam Lay was a better blues drummer than the jazz laden Davenport.

Looks like Elvin Bishop playing guitar , not Bloomfield. He (Bloomfield) appears right at the end clapping. This is historically correct as Bloomfield had left by this time. The LP "Resurrection of Pigboy Crabshaw"(Bishop's nickname) featured this song. Great ,great band .

David is wearing the wide brimmed hat here dude and you are correct about his instrument....what the *&%^%$ am I doing?Peace

The musicians that would eventually come around after their own gigs to jam, eat, smoke and generally sit in usually all night where ever were the creme de la creme of the scene. No one to my recollection ever questioned Paul's vocals beside the fact he was a difficult dude. That's a young David Sanborn wearing the hat , by the way. RIP guys and the rest of you sweet dudes , keep it real.Mac by the roadside
