Graff has been around way longer than hiphop it started in philly in the 60s and evolved in new york between the 70s and 90s. Thats also when and where hiphop evolved, so naturally they had some contact. Djing was origianlly for funk and disco. get your facts straight. if hiphop is 4 elements its rapping b-boying producing and beatboxing but beatboxing is a stupid ass element to begin with. Graff and DJing are both independant subcultures from hiphop they have no obligation to it.

Even when Nas isn't at the top of his game, he can still lay down killer shit. Real Hip-Hop isn't dead yet, but if Soulja Boy kind of music takes overs, then the real stuff will be very scarce, like it sort of is now
