This is part of a live set we did at Metro TV, a community video center, in mid 1982. We did this to demonstrate a new video synthesiser developed by Stephen Jones, who at that stage was not involved with the band. Our analogue synthesisers were supposed to interact with his analogue video device using control voltages, and to a certain extent it worked but we all decided to do a reworking at the beginning of 1983.To give you an idea of the vintage, note the titles done on a Commodore Vic20. Also the use of TV sets to make smaller copies of the image (yes you just pointed a camera at the TVs sitting on top of each other :-)These excerpts remain property of severed.com

Brilliant tune! Cool to hear how it evolved. I used to rock "Bulkhead" a lot back in the day and my friends were always trying to guess what the line is in the chorus...I think it was always some variation of:mangle/hang on+my petuniamy virginiamy bijinkyThanks to the wonder of the interwebs, I decided to do a search just now...is is really "Mangle my pig, junior", then?

Amazing, I just discovered Severed Heads in my search for older 80's electronic music. I remember we stumbled upon Dead Eyes Opened and our Keyboardist really dug it because it's sort of a long the lines of the type of experimental electronic music we're trying to do.

So Paul (Deering) had already left the band at this point? (my memory of the changing line-up in those early days is a bit fuzzy). I know that Stephen Jones played with the Heads a little later.

Don't forget Simon .. he's got the solo. Tom is the Bass player. Garry is Singing.

Who were the musicians on these Metro TV performances? My guess is Ellard, Bradbury, and Deering.
