If you have a Peavey Mart near you (that might be a western canada thing... I'm not sure) They usually have a nice selection of cast iron cookware. And they're pretty cheap too.

I'm trying to find one in Canada, but I won't settle for anything less than cast iron. Found some big, cast iron pots for sale, but they're enameled, and that just won't do. This modern day move towards coated, non-stick cookware is ridiculous. They had it right in the old days, thick, heavy cast iron cookware, distributes heat more evenly, lasts forever, and is almost indestructible.

Hey Dave! I enjoyed your video. What I really liked is how you show people how to improvise, like if they don't have a dutch oven or a particular kind of beans. Improvisation is a very important skill in cooking. Anyone can follow a recipe, but what do you do if you don't have a particular ingredient or piece of equipment?You thought of those things when you were making your video, and that's what makes this otherwise good video *great*. |
