I forgot who made this first, but what I do know was that soft cell took remixed this first then coil, a couple of other people tried to also but the one that stood out the most was marilyn manson.

I love this version! I never even heard of COIL until I saw this video. I love the slowed down pace and dark tones this video has. I always thought this song was about a relationship that had gone wrong but it is quite fitting having it be about AIDS. Sad, but fitting.

People are entitled to like whichever version of this song they prefer, but to deny that this version, and particularly this video, is anything short of brilliant shows a total lack of understanding about what art is about. You don't have to like it, but there's no questioning to impact of this video. Those of us who came of age when AIDS was starting to spread remember all of the ignorance and stereotypes that abounded. This video needed to be made.
