What I find most interesting about this clip, like others from the RTR/HR era, is how much of a 'performance' it really was, at least for Joanie. She and Bobby sang as one, always complementing the other. Yet this was taped shortly before they once again parted ways for another decade, Joanie hurt & angry, Bobby claiming not to know why. At the time, Bobby's intro seemed telling: 'Miss Joan Baez and she IS GREAT.' Sadly, touring with Bobby always played havoc with Joan's head and emotions.

Actually, Bob Dylan sings scratchy on purpose. He recorded one album in his early life where he sung quite differently - with a very sweet voice.

It's so cool that he absolutely couldn't sing and it absolutely didn't stop him singing like hell. Joan tries to provide some kind of vocal harmony, fails so happily and nobody cares including me. I love his music, love his lyrics and I even love his squeaking. It's just genuine Bob.
