Thank you so much for replying to me. I shall devote all of my energy into ensuring that I get my hands on several copies.

Indeed this version is even better than the fabulous duet with Tom Jobim - and this whole TV live session "MPB Especial" from 1973 is available as a DVD released by Trama in Brazil. The intimacy of the session is mind-blowing!

The translation is bad because it is a literal one. It says it at the end of the song.

Im not sure how to get this particular recording by Elis Regina because she evidently recorded a number of versions at assorted tempos undet the same song title, of course. However, Susannah McCorkle did an incredible cover on her 1993 CD using a mix of portuguese (which she speaks) and english, at a very slow, jazz-samba temp which she referred to as 'zen'-like.

Lyrics in portuguese is beautiful, but this translation is especially bad.amo Elis pra sempre!

I just discovered her yesterday on YouTube. Now I can't get enough. I am charmed by her. I've always loved Brazilian jazz...

Awesome song! Marvelous singer. If I had one wish (...well two, actually) I'd bring back Elis and Tom Jobim to life!

I am Brazilian and I am happy to know that Elis is recognized in other countries. hehe:]

I wonder where I can get a direct audio of this video because I like the temp of this one its not as fast and I like how she laughs at the end. |
