http://www.edmunds.com/insidel... the United States, boxy compacts are still a left-of-center novelty. People buy the Scion xB and Honda Element for their space-efficiency, versatility and neo-Bauhaus design. And they certainly don't mind the kind of gas mileage that's made possible by thrifty four-cylinder engines. While sales of such cars are modest (about 60,000 Scion xBs were sold in 2006, for example), the xB in particular is a draw for young buyers, who are worth their weight in iPods.

I agree with the above post, nissan will always be a "B-tier" vehicle.

I actually like some of Nissan's designs, but I have the same concerns over engineering and reliability. To me the Cube is a throwback to the old Nissan's, at least in looks. (BTW I own an XB which I love.)

I try to practice some degree of hypermiling or what I have known for years as the smith system and for the first time ever cars are not passing me they are beginning to realize it is useless to race to the next stop light or stop sign. I look ahead to see what is going to slow me up ahead why get there on the guys bumper and loose fuel accelerating when you can glide there for 1/2 the fuel. They are in a hurry to wait it's dumb.

I dont understand why you would want to have earbuds in your ears while driving..

By the way, I agree with your basic point, though - this comparison is basically purposeless other than to make media for the purpose of making media. My comment was just a general response to someone else's post. I got on here looking for reviews of the scion xB, and got one 2wks after post. I was looking for a cheap functional car to supplement a coupe - something with more cargo area - but cheap to get and operate. It is that. Not an eye-popping machine, but as advertised.

No, I made that comment based on sales and the consistency of the cars. A lot of people grow out of wanting high-school boy style cars and want a car that runs and is easy to work on. Nissans were great cars about 15-20 years ago and back, but they haven't kept up with Toyota and Honda in terms of engineering. Their answer has been to make impractical and stupid designs (like the murano, etc). Their old bread and butter may have been boring (stanza, sentra, pickups), but it was good stuff.

the cube is very nasty. the old xbs are bettr than the newer model xb. and the cube seems really slow..but it dont matter to me cuz i would never drive one

... The radio could be optionally installed, also, seriously, who uses a radio anymore in their car? I'm in Canada, and I never use it. I took my radio out and put in one that I can plug my Mp3 player into

You deducted this from the above video?Im currently making a video where a GT-R spanks a Supra/NSX to a 1/4 mile but with a catch. The GT-R is towing a boat... (I use supra and nsx as they use a late model and old in the tooth cube)...therefore Nissan is obviously head and shoulders above its jdm competition. This video/forum desperately needs some context.
