My god, what memories! I think I may have had a 45 of "Sidewalk Peptalk" at one time....was it ever printed as a 45? I loved absolutely everything they did.

Once on a Thursday night with a fake ID.In a fifty dollar opening band (thanks IKE).I celebrated a Budweiser Rite of Spring.Collinsville Park Ballroom, ghosts of Glen Miller played, for a sea of virgins in perfumed halter tops, dancing the night away. After a SRO congregation waited long enough, The Guild, anointed by The Beatles, rocked Soul Shake. swung Louie Prima, and even William Tell. Later that night Something In The Air got so hot, now there's only a legend to tell. a

What ever happened to Gary McClain and Rich Lang? I hung out with them when they were The Guild and later Lang and McClain. I live in Houston now, but would love to come see them when I am back in the St. Louis area. I heard that Gary McClain had possibly died from a long illness. Is that true?

I've got the Sabatino video, I think, that didn't turn out well and ended up being more of a documentary. Anyway, it's got the original members of the Guild (even an interview with Michael). And, I have a cassette. It's got most of my favorites, plus stuff that Tom and Michael and Jim and Rich and all wrote. I really hate it that they are so spread out now. Some of them used to get together once in a while in the summertime, but now we'll be lucky if it ever happens again.

Did the guild have a song called "Sidewalk Peptalk"? Looking for the music to this song as well as "something in the air"??

I did produce a documentary video in 1994 that included interviews with members of The Guild and footage that I recorded at their reunion concert. It is no longer available. Because Tom Kelly and Michael McDonald appear in the video, permissions would be prohibitive. Enjoy this one.Sky

OMG!!!My group of friends used to go to the Coliseum Ballroom in Benld to see the almost every Saturday night. I've always wished I could see them again. We loved the "Doos" as we called it, a song called "Soul Shake". They also did Pretty Little Angel Eyes, Silhouettes, Papa Was a Rolling Stone, Beach Boys medley, Blue Moon, etc. They were awesome!!!Thanks for the memories. Are there any more clips? I'd love to see anything you have.

No recordings I know of. They recorded on tape to make a demo that opened doors to other recordings, and contracts, but not as The Guild.Sky

You say they recorded live in the 70s. Are those recordings available for purchase? |
