Additionally, I would suggest that you take off the rose-colored glasses before reading the comments, because if you did, you would find many posts from Chinese people here that were not only racist, hateful, biased and ignorant, but which were wholly unprovoked. In fact, it is the Chinese (and some other) posters who felt the need to come here unprovoked and brag about how amazing their opening ceremony was, trashing the Athens games and Greek people in general. But I guess that's not racist.

You would be an idiot because you're taking the words of a handful of people on Youtube and applying them to an entire nationality. But based on your comments, it seems to me that you didn't need to read any of the comments here to have such racism, hate and ignorance within you. It also appears that you are fine with the bigoted Chinese posts, because I haven't seen you, our resident "fair" and "unbiased" poster here, reply to any of them. It appears that you are fine with those comments.

Oh, and of course, nary a word about the many respectful comments from many Greek posters here, or those who haven't made racist comments. To acknowledge them would be too inconvenient for you, just as pointing out the racism on the part of many Chinese posters here would also be too inconvenient for you as well. However, unlike you, I don't paint everyone with the same brush just because some people are ignorant and racist. That's more than can be said for your "fair" and "unbiased" self.

It seems to me that all of this arguing started when Chinese people came onto this video about the ATHENS opening ceremony to begin bragging about how much better Beijing's was. It was further fueled by ignorant, hateful blanket statements against Greeks (e.g. quickmantan). Greeks who even respectfully disagreed with claims that Beijing's ceremony was better was branded a racist. And NO, you are NOT fair and are NOT unbiased, not by a long shot, but you are truly hateful, biased and racist.

I was talking about Greek-American students, not students from Greece studying in the United States and was responding to an ignorant post (by someone Chinese) about how poor/insignificant Greeks/Greece are. However, studying abroad is not the exclusive domain of the rich in Greece. Greece has one of the world's highest percentages of students pursuing higher education abroad of any country in the world. This is a result of the fact that it is very difficult to get into Greek universities.

It's funny that you accuse Greek people of the negative nods when you really have no proof who has been doing any of the negative nodding around here. A bit presumptuous of you, don't you think? Not to mention that once again, you cast all Greek people with the same brush, which shows how ignorant, biased and hateful you truly are.

Those "journalists" who tried to uncover those "security holes" were actually caught. It also shows how petty and biased they were, pretty much trying to invent stories about security failures that turned out to not exist. The security presence at the games and throughout Athens was *tight* and the truth is, in the end, the games went off without a security concern. Atlanta can't say that and neither can Beijing. And I don't know every volunteer, but I do know 1/4 of them did not quit.

Athens won't have the games soon quite simply because that's the nature of the games. Italy hasn't had them since 1960. Tokyo since 1964. Germany since 1972. Paris since 1924! And once again your feverent hate, bias and racism comes out in full force. If Greece could handle the cost of the 2004 games, it would most certainly be able to handle the games again, seeing as Athens is more prepared now for such an event than it was in 1997 when it was awarded the games.

You are so blinded by zeal, bias and hate that it's incredible. While Athens was warned about delays by the IOC, there was never an actual proposal to strip the games. Of course everything finished on time and the games were successful. Also, the subway system wasn't aging nor failing quite simply because it was simply expanded with new lines. Parking lots were built at subway stations for park-and-ride purposes. And of course none of this has any bearing on whether the country was westernized.
