Car companies make much more profit by selling spare parts. Electric cars have less moving parts and thus less profitable.

We need to remember a few things..where does the "power" to produce it physically (both components and energy)come from? Also the electricity to run them mostly are provided by oil/gas powerplants...Electrical cars are a step in the right dirction, but it is just a step, not a solution...Oil is and will be extremly important..just remember that for every single calorie of food we eat, 10 calories of oil is used! By the way I love this car..Have a nice day/night where ever you are on OUR planet..

Tesla plans to have more affordable models out by the time the Volt is out. As they say in the interview, part of the point of releasing these high-end vehicles is to pay for production of the lower-end models. I'm all for competition and diversity in the marketplace, so we should welcome the emergence of a new, innovative company that is helping to spur the reinvigoration of the old standys.

The GM Volt that is about to hit production will at least be affordable, looks like a real car (not like prius)Plus its plug in and after 40 miles uses a small motor to charge batteries, so car always runs off batteries, drive under 40miles perday no need to buy gasoline. Charge it with solar and there ya go,It's not the rocket that tesla is but it's a nest car.Understand people are already putting orders in for the machine.

it may be expensive, but like the guy said, we need richers to be interested before they can sell enough, use that good old capital put it back into the research and within a few years, look out! Ban the manufacturing of carburators for vehicles?!

my comments were factual, they in no way supported any oil company. i'm all for this company.clue phone: saying a banana costs 40 cents doesn't make me anti-banana. i'm lost how you thought i was against these guys.admitedly these cars aren't for the working poor, nor the middle class. it's a toy car, for $100,000.00. and you gotta put that UP FRONT. not payments. i can't afford it. love it. can't afford it. |
