one of my favorite short pieces for violin and orchestra. I also like Christina Sinding's siute for violin and orchestra (opus 10). I have never ehard of this violinist. Isaac stern did a good rendition of Serenade Melancolique. Go Cardinals!

Yes, we can find great interpreters in old records. They were not subject to modern audience requirements. This recording has a very well chosen tempo. (The playing in octaves suffered, but the emotional expression is marvelous).

wow, the lyrics in that really spoke to me. gotta appreciate the discipline required to make that sound as natural and instinctive as it did.

Interesting interpretation! May sound weak/bland compared to modern versions, but it's musically convincing and heartfelt. |
