The original recording by Williams proved to be his greatest commercial success, being certified 2x Platinum in the United Kingdom and selling 2.8 million worldwide.[1][2]In October 2006 the RTE documentary This Note's For You, presented by Tom Dunne, said that the song was originally co-written by Williams and Irish singer Ray Heffernan. he did not win because producers and simon fixed the show for cook, see last two week of the show including the final, and everything was fixed for cook, even simon interview in ellen, where he said, the same day of the result, that david cook was the winner for him, wake up america, they do not care about what america think, they fixed the show, even when David Archuleta was better, thousand miles from Cook. ARCHI THE BEST IDOL EVER,he should be declared the real american idol

You know when Simon said it was never a hit by Robbie Williams here in the states, I think David should release it and just watch it become a hit! Everything this kid sings will turn to gold! I just see some really super things from him. He's gonna became a megastar! #1 in ITUNES and #2 Billboards and the song hasn't even gotten much airplay! OM Gosh incredible!
