Those are some pretty shaky connections. I know Dr. Legates personally and I would never consider him a liar. I would also say that the financial opportunities of taking your particular stance far outweigh the financial opportunities of going against the flow.

DAVID LEGATES' ties to several groups that have supported or emphasized skeptical stands on climate change, while they also received regular contributions from ExxonMobil. Those organizations include the National Center for Policy Analysis, which has received about $421,000 from ExxonMobil, and the George C. Marshall Institute, which received $630,000.

Ferguson set up the Center for Science and Public Policy in early 2003, after a $100,000 grant from ExxonMobil in 2002 - specifically tagged for the center. Exxon has continued to fund the Center each year since then, to the tune of at least $50,000 a year. The Center's chief scientific researcher is sceptic WILLIE SOON.
