Well, after reading the FLDS website, (google the Truth Will Prevail), and watching the horrific abuse of children and families by the State of Texas and CPS and all the witch hunting that provoked it and propelled it, and reading about the character of anti-FLDS, and other highly credible versions of events that completely contradict the anti-FLDS version of events, I just find this to be an attempt to get fame and money via a story of abuse. Just another phoney Oprah show, as far as I can see.

The problem is that these kids are conditioned from a young age into accepting exploitation through arranged marriages. You don't see many 15 yr old girls in a free society choosing to marry older polygamists. I'm guessing you already know this at some level though.

uh, actually that other stuff does make the news. If you have some info about the "other" side of this story being discussed here, let us know.

People like Jessop and Wall are paraded around by the immoral mass media as reps of the "evils" of the FLDS. Nobody in the media even bothers to question their versions of events or allow the other side to counter. Jessop, Wall and other anti-FLDS folks are just expressing 1 version of things and the people out in tv land accept it as absolute truth. Meanwhile, teen pregnancy, stds, drug use and broken homes continue to rise unabated in the secular world but don't expect that to make the news.

A 16 year old girl with babies is not acceptable in a civilized society? Yet we see this all the time in the secular world and people do nothing. But when it's a 16 year old, married girl in a religious faction suddenly it becomes a problems. It's hypocrisy.

If they are going to make a film about this story then I reckon James Woods would make a good character of Warren Jeffs

Poor Carolyn, I'm halfway reading her book and imagining being in her position and how painful it feels suffering in that state. I'm glad to be able to know about this story and to realise what she went through

Who cares if someone wants to be a polygamist - that's their decision; not mine. How do I know it's fictional? I've read enough credible evidence that refutes her claims. Were YOU there? Do you believe in the presumption of innocence or are you just another one of the angry mob who wants to conduct witch hunts? What, exactly, is your beef with polygamy?
