Probably so, but there is one crazy idea to put train into a vacuum tube under the surface of the ocean, train could reach over 800km/h, so who knows what we have in the future... =D

well yeah because you don't have to take off and all, but cross country flights airplanes are probably the way to go

Actually, trains are faster in shorter distances, say below 500km. |
