There was a programme on UK tv a few years ago called The Punk Years. Its on here somewhere. Lydon has a go at the bands that followed and how punk became uniform. He has a go at The Clash a bit.

Were they really pioneers, or just the Spice Girls of punk, made up by Malcolm McLaren? There were other punkbands that even couldn't stand the word "commercial" and kept away from the establishment.
