I think the issue is more...Why in a flying bleep would the Taiwanese ppl - who currently have human rights - want to go and be a part of China's oppressive totalitarian gov't. Would you like your human rights to be taken away from you. I think not. Case in point.

I agree with you, but I don't think it's about who owns who. It's about the Taiwanese people wanting to have human rights, to enjoy the freedoms of democracy. Ma is a traitor, selling Taiwan out to China. Such a damn shame.

well, you are wrong,other than mainlander,majorith of resident of taiwan are people come from fujian province, most of them speak minnan dialect,some of them speak hakka, and they are pure ethnic Han Chinese. as for the minority in taiwan, they consisit of less than 2% percent of total taiwan residents.by the way,the mandarin speaker percentage is higher than any province in China mainland,even higher than beijing.

yes,you're right.they're Gaoshan Zu.we're Han Zu.Like Tibeten.but Taiwan government Guomin party came from China mainland are Han Zu.

I been to Taiwan a few times. I learnt that a lot of mainlanders about 2 million came in 1949, but the rest of the Taiwanese don't even look Chinese. They look like they've mixed with the original tribes of Taiwan. Especially in the south:Ping-tung and the west. |
