it all comes from religion, the "holy" books are hateful toward gay people therefore religious people are inclined to hate gay people! gay men are usually happier, nicer people than religious people, because they gays aren't living a lie (unlike the religious folk) Homopholbia is inherant in Judaism, Christianity and Islam and this is just one of the many reasons to oppose religion!

I am a gay man and am so lucky that my family supports me no matter who i choose to love. My Dad walked out on me for it but my mum said i didnt need him and since the rest of the family has given me support, they are my rock. It is just a shame that there are people out there who do not have the support. Peter you have my support and my familys, all my heart

That is just appalling! I am Canadian and let me tell you if that ever happened here, the government and lawyers would be all over that like a fly to a light. I do hope that he finds a better life as he gets older and social services improves, nobody deserves that kind of life or treatment. Are there not agencies in the UK that can help gay kids? Like PFLAG or GLBTQ-I centres? If not, thats such a shame, but in time things change, perhaps he will found a service like that? Or sombody...

There are good people and bad people -- gay or straight is not a deciding factor. Focus on actual problems; sexuality isn't one of them.We would probably all be much better off if all bigots would come out of the closet and openly show their true colors instead of hiding in anonymous forums. Even the KKK at least make public appearances, even if their too afraid to show their faces.Bigotry is a learned behavior, while sexuality is present at (or even before) birth.

Anyone who thinks the police in the UK are NOT homophobic as an organisation and from the top down... is blind to other gay peoples experiences! In some gay peoples experience, the single, most likely person to institutionally homophobically abuse & violate a gay person... is still likely to be a police officer in the UK...just like those STILL serving in the Devon & Cornwall police force who are responsible for a catalogue of homophobic abuses against gay persons since 2004.

this is the most shocking story ive even come accross but isnt as bad as lawrence king! how parents could kick there own son out for being gay is beyond me and i dont no how i would cope. my best mate is gay and i love him to bits he has be chased with bricks because he was gay and i think it is wrong and horrible to not like someone because of who they love! |
