See you're ignoring the underlying problem. There is no question about whether or not kids care about school. The question is WHY dont they care about school. The truth is, we would care about school if school was interesting, stimulating, and enlightening. Its not. Rarely do students openly object to the system, but when we organize together it appears we all have the same ideas on what needs to change. Alas, we the children are given no say in the matter. Again, this is no accident.---

...my peers are continuously dumbed down, hindered in emotional and intellectual development, and used as machines for the economy. It is becoming more and more clear to me that this is no accident. I'm a senior in high school and I've been watching the changes, up close and personal, and this is no joke. Its no faulty judgment or misdirection somewhere up top.. This is an all-out organized project. I predict that there is no improvement in sight.

No. The failure of the American Education system is intentional. They DO know better than we do; they know better about behavior modification and how to systematically train large populations to be a certain way. It is a fact that an ignorant, obedient and productive population is the desired result. It has nothing to do with egos; that's a cover-up. This upcoming generation, I am a part of it, and I am watching with pure fear as...

So true!! They (FEA/Government) Only wants to train us for blindness into obligatory slavery so that the good ol' boys that run our country can control us like animals...The american dream is an illusion meant to keep us occupied with what little life we have...

They don't want you to have a good education. It's that simple.

The population of the U.S. has changed dramatically over the years. Our classrooms are filled with English language learners, teaching conditions continue to remain poor and NCLB has compromised any semblance of quality teaching and learning. The Ed in '08ers are simply out of touch and their examination of the situation is terribly simplistic.

What happened? I'll tell you what happened: We let federal bureaucrats get in the way. We let them think they're "experts" when it comes to public education, and they acted like "It's my way or the highway." Of course, they didn't know jack shit when it comes to proper education, so they screwed everything up. They thought they knew better how to educate our kids than we do ourselves! Parents, teachers, so on and so forth. They let their egos get in the way and told states how to do things.

Honestly, is it really realistic to expect every high school and middle school student in America to be good at advanced math (when probably only 20% of the students will use it later in life), advanced science, art, and so much more? It's ridiculous! I hate art, and I'm not good at it. I accepted it long ago. Yet I had to take 2 or 3 fucking art classes that I got a C or D in in HS. What was the point of that?

Vouchers and charter schools would also help greatly. I mean, if liberal Europe even uses vouchers, why can't we?? Liberal Europe doesn't see any problem with vouchers. We also need to end this one-size-fits-all bullshit. The European and Australian education systems are more tailored to individual students, so they can customize their schedules to fit their needs and career plans as early as high school.Stop with this "well-rounded" nonsense in our public schools. It doesn't work. |
