Neato! I've heard about that, I like the idea! I think the motors could handle it.. I just found out how to overvolt my goldenmotor controller.......but I sold my bike, OH WELL.

It operates at 72 volts, not thirty-six. The motor is rated at 36V, but he's "over-volting" it.

I like the fact that It looks like a regular bike. With a little imagination you could cover all the wires in the bike. Then when you are doing 50mph the cops don't give you a second look. Good job.

MPH ??? How fast is it ?

Hey there Muffin man! Glad to hear you're going electric!!! At 36 volts I'd suggest getting no less than 12 amp batteries if you're going lead acid, it's worth the couple extra bucks and the little extra weight for the performance. You can still get 7amp batteries but you'll find your bike pretty sluggish and the voltage cutoff your controller might have will kick in much much sooner. To get 500watts of power at 36v you're going to need about 14 amps, so 12 amps is best.

you can meke the meter read the current without having the main power wires run to the handlebars by using a meter shunt inline with the power cables and running small wires to the meter. you may have to disassemble the meter to get the internal shunt out to use it, or use a different meter that is designed to have an external shunt.

I am getting a 36 V 500 watt motor, which seems to be the most popular sized motor. However I've seen everything from 7.2AH 12V batteries to 20AH 12V. I would like to only get the 7.2AH batteries because they're cheaper. Would you recommend those batteries or would u say its better to have the stronger batteries. Also then what amp controller would you recommend.

Now that I look closer, the rings don't match a Golden. I think it's a Grubee.Burnouts in a 26"? Nice. 8)

Hey, that's a Golden Motor, isn't it? How has it held up to the power of the C'lyte controller? |
