Instintaneously, it's our only real source of heat unless you went deep underground.

Well it only takes so long for that heat from the sun that is being shot at the earth to get here, so i would say however long it takes for the heat to get here. But that would only be an estimate, im not a scientist...

Awesome explanation. Very clear and concise. Great job!

according to the theory that it's a wormhole, then it only act to transport the mass that it sucked in to another place or dimension. so it's not getting any bigger. if wo black hole meet then they may combine. we don't know what a black hole is made of, it's not like we can go and cut out a piece of it and bring back to study.
penitent2401 (September 27, 2008 at 4:01 pm)
it's called a hole beacuse it pull things in, even light, like a drain hole in kitchen sink. it's not very clear if its mass is truely still there, only by following the mathematic equations and reasonings we conclude it has some mass, but new equations emerge all the time. a popular theory is that it has became a wormhole, if this wormhole goes anywhere at all is another matter. it's "relentless eating machine" because it cannot be destroy by anything we know of, but destroys and eat everything
TheTruth236 (September 27, 2008 at 8:45 am)
so basically the theory of relatively was wrong? ...sorry albert...
figuiprmc (September 27, 2008 at 7:24 am)
I want to know. Why do they call it a hole when there is still mass there? And if the sun became a black hole right now, you say we would feel the same gravity. Then, why is television describing it as a relentless, unmercifull eating machine. Also, Do black holes become bigger with time? I say that because matter falls into it, I mean its like putting two pices of gum together they become a bigger piece, right? |
