green day were once just lil punk brats like all the other punk bands out there and they became famous for being who they aremaybe you dont like their music, you can bitch that theyre "sellouts" or whateverbut the thing isthey're green day, and you're not\get over it :Dbtw listening to green day was what made me love punk and get into the musicunlike all the little brats who think theyre so unique coz they got a mohawk and bondage pants who start off listening to exploited or watev

exploited, black flag, minor threat, subhumans, yeah..haha thats what i mean. Thats what i used to dig the most when i first heard of these guys..i am old...this would have been 88 89...i would have never listed to this..but i have fun playin and singin it. I am glad i rediscovered this band.

they actually aren't that poppy. i mean yea they are more poppy that like the exploited, black flag, minor threat, subhumans, etc. but you should def. listen to viva la revolution (you'd probably know that one) also 'numbers' that's my favorite song by them

My drummer wants to do this song above here. I never listened to the adicts. Just one of those bands that slipped by me. I am kinda glad about that because i dont think i would have liked them back in the day. I was into more skate thrash and didnt care for poppy sounding stuff. Song like this are fun to play for me though because usually we dont say much at all, so it busts it up live..and i CAN sing and play which is still challenging depending on whats bing played and sung. keeps it fun.

no, yeah. you're totally right. green day came with a new era... so it's way different, and i wouldn't really call it punk... so they're old stuff is more like classic nineties pop. some stuff i grew up listening to on the radio when i was a kid. and the sex pistols are amazing, but i kind of get that too. it just gets more and more complicated.
