Originaly George Lucas didn't want to use Harrison because he'd already been in a movie. Mark Hamil and Carrie Fisher weren't known movie actors. Mark Hamil had been on T.V. a little. George liked how Mark had a simple suddle tone and how Carrie had such a calm and collected attitude. Harrison was originaly there just to help the actors with their lines. But George finnaly bought into useing him in his movie.

To think that Mark Hamill took public transportation to this audition, either the bus or subway, and was living in a low-rent apartment with a roommate. All he was looking for was a job so he could pay the bills. He probably had no idea he was about to become a multimillionaire superstar.
