We use microwaves to save time and energy from cooking and cleaning. Then, go to the gym and pay $19-150/mo plus $20-50 on gas/mo & 20-50 hours of our time/mo to use muscles that weren't used during "normal" activities such as stirring noodles and washing a pan. My point: If we all reflected for 5 minutes a day on ways to optimize our time & help as many people as possible, ourselves included, we'd be much happier. But who has 5 minutes, anyway? :-)

bleh, sorry people can be so cruel. I think what you're saying is incredibly out of the box type thinking and a lot of people aren't ready for it. Microwaves are horrible for your health and should cease to exist.

Sometimes, I really can't tell if people like these "microwaves are evil" people are con men or just stupid. They all seem to quote from the same "research" that surprisingly, no one can provide a reference for. If their information is so Earth-shattering in its revelations, why is it not published in a reputable journal? It's easier to believe that the information just doesn't exist as opposed to some sort of conspiracy to keep the information hidden.

Hmm yeah... surely if they are so bad like this guy says.. billions of people would be dead by now.. Come on..people use these ovens all their life.. When do the side effects kick in? When you like 80 years old.... Then you blame the microwave cooking for peoples illness?

Being something of a scientist, I tried to look for information on "d-Nitrosodienthanolamines". All of the Google hits I got had the same exact line of text, word for word, that you just gave me. Since "d-Nitrosodienthanolamines" are so common, why do I have trouble finding any information on them?

Oh well thats gr8 im not eating microave foods ever again cos you just scared the living sh**t outta me.

Come on! I was interested by your video ; I thought that at least you'd know something about the science behind it! For one, microwave radiation is not ionizing radiation (you'd need 100.000 times more energy per photon - X rays). There is no other molecular alteration than mere cooking could do. And people who eat a lot of microwaved food (prepared in general) probably eat less healthy than the rest, which can lead to this increase in digestive system cancers you were talking about. :-(

(continued)Here's a summary of some of the results:a. Microwaving prepared meats sufficiently to insure sanitary ingestion caused formation of d-Nitrosodienthanolamines, a well-known carcinogen.b. Microwaving milk and cereal grains converted some of their amino acids into carcinogens.c. Thawing frozen fruits converted their glucoside and galactoside containing fractions into carcinogenic substances.

tmbeetlebrox I believe that you understand the technology of microwaves but have you conducted any extensive research on its effects on food? The following is a summary of the Russian investigations, published by the Atlantis Raising Educational Center in Portland, Oregon. CARCINOGENS were formed in virtually ALL foods tested. No test food was subjected to more microwaving than necessary to accomplish the purpose, i.e., cooking, thawing, or heating to insure sanitary ingestion. |
