the other thing i want to say to you as well is we're not "sudden fan of journey" why would we be going to live bars like hard rock cafe(manila) or bagaberde to listen to retro and rock music covers like journey and etc?coz we grew-up on all this music,do you get what i mean?it's not our fault to listen to american music,the americans wanted us to be like them when they first invaded our country!AP was not supported in the phils coz he decided he's happy doing 80s retrorock covers!

stop wondering! it's simple really,yeah you're right! it's not jus because of AP but the band "JOURNEY" i mean they are BIG AMERICAN BAND! who would have thought in a million years that a small brown man would sing for them?god bless them for pickin AP! that's when the words "i'm proud to be filipino"comes in,coz now AP is so fuckin huge!!

if you are talking about the clip from the manila jigs, yes those were song requests or could even be a note asking him to greet someone in the crowd. These stuffs happen all the time in the clubs back home.

Hey Thinice125, AP was busy doing his jigs in the clubs in Manila, but then, who got in touch with AP in the Phils? wasn't it the Journey Guitarist? Who flew him in for the audition??? needless to say they found an OPPORTUNITY to perform again as a group. So who is "opportunistic" now??? duhhhhhhhhh A-HOLE!

im just wondering why filipinos became a sudden fan of journey despite the fact that JOURNEY had been rocking since late 70's. was it AP the reason? OBVIOUS. but AP was singing in the phils. since 80's but have gone abroad coz he was not supported by same people bragging "im proud to be filipino" because of AP's achievement as newly hired replacement of SP. for me, im so ashamed of this kind of personality display. it's an OPPORTUNISTIC DISPLAY OF CHARACTER. TYPICAL OF A FILIPINO. what a shame!

The old debate goes on.There are Super bowl champs & icon bands of the old & modern era. The great Steve Perry, J. Montana, etc., all had glory days. AS HUMANS, WE, ALL TEAM &/or BAND MEMBERS COME & GO. Now, we have NEW teams with..Manning/NYGiants, Arnel/Journey. While BS walks, OUR MONEY TALKS. So the NEW teams/bands will bring back proven OLD plays & tunes WITH HOPES to capture OUR mighty dollar. LET'S ROCK ON WITH THE NEW TEAMS! WE'RE ALL HERE, LIVE LIFE, THEN GO AS MORTALS.
