Note the sound of the crowd cheering at 0:50. Does this sound like real cheering, or does it sound like this may be played back too slow?

Do you consider steam engines primitive,or the gatling gun, or photography,or the electric telegraph?Did you know that the telegraph station in San Francisco received the newsof Lincoln's death only 10 minutes afterthe one in Washington D.C. received it,The electric telegraph, being electrical, sent its taps through the wireat the speed of light, that means when the telegraph operator tapped it, it was tapping instantly over 2,ooo miles away,

William McKinley was the third president to be assassinated. Then, Theodore Roosevelt became the President of the United States.

Also, Edison made a tin foil recording of President Hayes in 1877, but that did not survive either. What a pity; how interesting would it be to hear a message from 131 years ago?

It was 1877, nothing existed prior. |
