It's such a shame a culture so beautiful, and with such talented and gifted individuals has to take such a turn. I'm proud to be Iranian, and I sympathize everyday with my brothers and sisters, my "khaleh"s and "daee"s who are forced to live under such conditions. My heart bleeds for them, and for the soil on which I was born.In my heart of hearts, no where else will ever be home.

This is one of the reasons I'm thankful everyday that my parents had the courage to leave Iran in the '80s so I wouldn't have to grow up in that. I'm sure there were people who stayed who wouldn't dream things would get so out of hand, just like the comment below by wais910 saying that they're sure it doesn't happen in Iran anymore.
