Panama has reggae, n we dunt "try" to sound jamaican, its just the roots. n Peurtoricans did make reggaeton..after we spoon fed them with the basic Dembow beat that is in every reggaeton song. its like Old school hip hip to new hip hop. Even Tego, Don Omar, Vico C, Daddy Yankee have gave thanks to Panama reggae. soo ye u guys made "reggaeton" but dont deny that it evolved from spanish reggae. not trying to disrespect cause i got mad PR love but don't make em look bad. PEACE

Reggaeton has roots from Panama, but it isn't exactly the same. What Panama did was use reggae beats from jamaica and either translated them in spanish or did they're own lyrics. Notice how reggaeton from the mid to late 90's differs from what you hear now, REGGAETON is Puerto Rican because I don't believe panama called it by that name is was just called Spanish Reggae, thats all. Reggaeton today is more technoish and hip hopish
