This idea of capitalism and freedom being synonymous is laughable at best.

The exact same could be said for capitalism.

good band, good song, but i could care less about their politics. capitalism sucks but so does communism, or socialism if you prefer. the latter sounds great on paper but when applied to real life it just doesn't work.

(comment cont.2)So a big part of creating this band was to try to tear that apart, to make a homogeneous sound that wasn't really enough to offend anyone, and allow the lyricsand thereby the messageshine through.Another factor was just have some fun with it. Not tie themselves to a rigorous tour, not feel compelled to ship annual albums, just take it easy and enjoy it.And I'll be honest, at first I didn't like it much, but if you give them a good listen, I think you'll enjoy what you hear.

(comment cont.)Dennis then went on to create this band with some friends with the intention of basically breaking down everything that he had built with Refused, and then rebuilding it. If you didn't know already Dennis and a lot of those he interacts with, have very strong marxist ideals. Everything Refused did was to generate emotion, to draw attention to themselves; to become a spectacle.

I'm reaching with this comment, but I'll admit, I think you miss the point. The band - and I'm talking about Refused here - literally imploded. Everyone was tired. They were all spent from putting everything into, what ended up being, their last album, from touring, from working so damn hard night-to-night and cross-country. Tensions were high and next thing you know the band went down just like they started.

Very sad that the singer went from Refused to this band. Refused was way better. The music was way more influential than this "indie" sound.
